Description: A young man leans over a table, his head in his hand. The rounded form of his back echoes the circular table on which he leans, tilted up towards the picture plane with a subtle cubist playfulness. Before him are a blank sheet of paper and a pot of ink—as if he is pausing to compose a letter. Nearby, arrayed on the table before him, are a ukulele and a piece of sheet music with a cover reading “My Little Grass Shack in Kealakekua.”
