Scrapbook of the Wellington Catering Company, World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, Ill

Description
This scrapbook consists primarily of individual head-and-shoulder portraits of Wellington Catering Company employees, many of whom were women and children, all with handwritten captions identifying the name of the sitter. Two pages contain portraits of African American employees. The photographs are 5 x 4 cm ovals and many bear partial embossed stamps of "Department of Admissions." In addition, the scrapbook contains World's Columbian Exposition ephemeral items including business cards, work passes, programs to orchestral events and organ concerts, and 3 business letters written to William Cornelius, the former owner of the scrapbook. There is also an envelope with an additional 20 pieces of loose ephemera.
